MODERN FURNITURE - ISSUE #2 - NEW YORK

New York offers entire showrooms featuring specific brands that are sometimes only available via catalogue in Vancouver due to limited floor space. I've been inspired by New York's amazing resources and have become a regular visitor to source product for clients and colleagues. For those of you who appreciate great design, here are some showrooms I highly recommend visiting. Manhattan is a mecha of unique design communities where one can walk through the city and discover amazing unexpected surprises. Small privately owned shops, boutiques and concept stores.

Great website to visit to give you an introductory review of where to go ... and is also an excellent example of a well designed website with a simple and clean layout that easy to navigate through.

Natural materials and finishes with chunky square proportions perfect for the modern interior. As an interior designer from Vancouver, BC where most perceptions of West Coast Style is limited to arts & crafts mission furniture or at most a contemporary combination of typical standards - how inspiring it was to come across this amazing fresh new look of combining more modern proportions and lines. The combination of reclaimed North American woods and cashmere textured wools or smooth leathers. Combine the "Caribou" chair with a few of my favorite signature pieces from Brent Comber, De La Espada, e15 and bring a new modern look for a Whistler home or Vancouver post & beam estate.
